The primary purpose of the VoiceXML Checker is to allow you to verify the syntactic correctness of your VoiceXML files. It also allows you to make changes to your files and resave them in your Café account directory.
You should use the VoiceXML Checker as the first step in debugging your applications. It allows you to catch syntactic errors before going on to look for any semantic errors. See Chapter 3, Trace Tool and Chapter 5, Vocal Debugger for descriptions of tools you can use to find semantic errors.
Note: To use the BeVocal tools, you must have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.5.7 installed on your computer.
You can click VoiceXML Checker in the Tools & File Management menu to start the checker. This brings up an empty Checker window.
You can use the edit box to create a new file and save it to your Café directory by giving it a name in the Save As box. More frequently, however, you'll edit files on a local machine and upload them to Café for storage. In this case, you'd typically use the edit box to correct mistakes found by the Checker.
To check an existing file that you've uploaded to your Café home directory,
