VoiceXML 1.0 only. Java Speech Markup Language element that classifies a region of text as a particular type.

Syntax

     type="sentence"|"paragraph"
 >
   Text
 </div>    

Description

Identifies enclosed text as a particular type for interpretive purposes.

The contained text is spoken normally; <div> has no effect.

Note: In VoiceXML 2.0, this tag is replaced by the <paragraph> and <sentence> tags.
