VoiceXML 1.0 only. Java Speech Markup Language element that changes the emphasis of speech output.

Syntax

 <emp
     level="strong"|"moderate"|"none"|"reduced"
 >
   Text
 </emp>

Description

Any attribute is ignored; the contained text is spoken normally.

Note: In VoiceXML 2.0, this tag is replaced by the <emphasis> tag.

Attribute Description
level

Level of emphasis to use when speaking the enclosed text. Optional (default is moderate).

Possible values are:

 •  strong
 •  moderate
 •  none
 •  reduced
