<speak>

The <speak> element is the root element of a standalone SSML document which contains all other SSML elements. The <speak> element is not a VoiceXML 2.0 element.

Syntax

 <speak
     version="1.0"
     xml:lang="lang"

 </speak>

Description

Through the BeVocal VoiceXML extension of <audio> with attributes bevocal:ssml and bevocal:ssmlexpr, you are able to refer to standalone SSML documents which must contain the <speak> element as the root element.

xml:lang
Not Supported. The language and optional country local identifier for the SSML document. Optional
