    Relevance Description

    New Features/Enhancements

    Relevance Description
    French Canadian Language Support
The browser now has limited support for the French Canadian language. Applications can now have French Canadian grammars and perform recognition against these grammars. Built-in grammars are currently not supported for the French Canadian language.
    New TTS Voice
There is a new French Canadian TTS voice julie (Vocalizer Female French Canadian). Refer to the VoiceXML Programmer's Guide for complete details.
    ANI Spoofing
ANI spoofing is disabled by default on Café for outbound calls via call control tags. A warning is thrown to VXML log. It is enabled by default on hosting servers.
    Café Account Sign Up
Every new Café account sign-up will create a new account and will be inactive by default. The welcome email will contain a URL to click to activate the account. For all disabled Café accounts, developers cannot make calls to their own Café accounts. The platform plays an error prompt that the account is disabled and exits.
    Call Volume Restriction
Developers who are not current Bevocal hosting customers are now restricted to 50 calls per day per developer.
    Secure Logging Enhancements
When secure logging is enabled with the property bevocal.securelogging.enabled, any captured utterances are also encrypted along with the log contents.
    Control recognition latencies
A new VXML property bevocal.vxml.maxrecognitionlatency is supported. The application can limit the latency for large and complex grammar recognitions.
    Mask recognition latencies
A new VXML property bevocal.sounds.maskrecognitionlatency is supported. The application can use the fetchaudio property along with this property to play a masking sound while the browser is recognizing the user input.
    VXML 2.1 recordutterance property
The new VXML 2.1 properties recordutterance and recordutterancetype are now supported. The old property bevocal.audio.capture would be deprecated in a future release. The new shadow variables recording, recordingsize, recordingduration are now supported. Check out <field> for more details.
    VXML 2.1 srcexpr attribute
The srcexpr attribute in now supported on <grammar>, <data>, and <script>, tags.
VXML 2.1 namelist attribute on the <disconnect> tag
The namelist attribute on the <disconnect> tag is accepted by browser, but is currently ignored. In the future, the browser may use this attribute to support UUI information from the call.
    VXML 2.1 <foreach> tag
The <foreach> tag is now available. This new tag is the same as the <bevocal:foreach> tag
VXML 2.1 type attribute on the <transfer> and <bevocal:dial> tags
The new type attribute is supported for the <transfer> and <bevocal:dial> tags.
    Audio file recognition
The attribute bevocal:urlexpr on the <field> tag now allows you specify a local audio variable as well as an actual audio file URI.

    Known Bugs and Limitations

    Bug Description
    5144
DTMF recognitions produce incorrect values in the utterance property of the shadow variable and the application.lastresult$ variable.  Currently, utterance is set to a string of the form DTMF-1 DTMF-2 DTMF-pound.  The VoiceXML 2.0 specification requires that the value be set to a simple string of digits and symbols such as "12#".  The specification also requires that the termchar be removed from the end of the utterance string, which currently is not done.
    6305
The numeric scale of the confidence property of shadow variables and application.lastresult$ now correspond with the VoiceXML confidencelevel property.  The confidencelevel property uses an exponential scale to map the VoiceXML property values 0.0-1.0 to the Nuance values 1-100.  However, the confidence properties of shadow variables and application.lastresult$ use a linear mapping.

    Bug Fixes

    Bug Description
    10400
The browser checks for illegal characters while fetching resources. If the filenames contain illegal characters, an appropriate badfetch error is thrown.
    10416
Fixed a NullPointerException when the <enumerate> and <choice> tags are used in a particular way.
    10713
A problem with recognition server grammar caching is fixed.
    10719
VocalScripter wrongly accepted some input as valid recognitions when there were error conditions. The problem has been fixed.
    10821
A minor problem with MIME types is fixed when the bevocal.gsl.usecachedexternalreferences property is used for caching external references in grammar.
